Sunday is Father’s Day so today I made my dad a card. I used the Father’s Day card I posted about here as my inspiration. I like the way it turned out, even if I messed up a few times.
It was easy to make. It’s just simple shapes available on the Cricut. I had all of the papers butt needed to print off the maps I wanted to use. For those, I did a Google search for the places I wanted and printed them about 2″ x 2″. I cut them out and used some brown chalk to add a bit of color. Once I had everything cut, I realized I forgot to cut the squares in the brown paper where the maps go so I used a paper cutter I have to make those. I changed the project on Cricut Design so that it will cut properly if I ever want to use it again.
I attached the maps to the framed paper and ran the papers through my sticker maker. I don’t know what I would do without my sticker maker! It makes crafting that much easier. Once that was done, I attached the stickers to the paper part of the card. The lighter paper it is attached to is very thin, so I glued that to paper the same color as the column and the frame.
The Cricut Air is an amazing tool. With it, I wrote the saying on the same paper I used to cut DAD. I was able to use a font I have on my computer for the saying. Did I say the Cricut Air is an amazing tool!?!
Once the card was complete, I used my Cricut to make an envelope. That took a while because I have never done that before. The first envelope was a little too small so I made a second one, which was a little too large but worked. So now, the card is ready to mail. I just hope it gets there on time!
